 Edogawa (江戸川区 Edogawa-ku) e' un quartiere di Tokyo, Giappone.
Il quartiere venne costituito dalla fusione, nel 1937, dei borghi di Komatsugawa e Koiwa, con i villaggi di Kasai, Shinozaki, Matsue, Mizue e Shikamoto.
Molto conosciuto e' l'Edogawa Fireworks Festival, il Matsuri estivo che si svolge di solito agli inizi di Agosto.
In Giappone , nel periodo estivo, esistono miriadi di festival con i fuochi d'artificio (hanabi), ma quello di Edogawa, e' uno dei Top ! Quasi 1.000 fuochi d'artificio vengono lanciati in 5 secondi... quasi 14.000 fuochi nell'arco dei 75 minuti di spettacolo... sicuramente migliore rispetto al Festival sul Sumida! Sul sottofondo la musica che accompagna il tema dei fuochi, scandendone i ritmi.
E' uno dei Festival pirotecnici piu' antichi di Tokyo e si svolge sulle rive del Fiume Edo. Piu' di 1.300.000 persone si riuniscono sulle rive del fiume Edogawa sui fianchi di Tokyo Edogawa e Chiba Ichikawa per poter ammirare questo spettacolo! A Ichikawa, sul lato di Chiba, e' conosciuto come Ichikawa City Nohryo Fireworks Festival.
E' possibile raggiungerlo a piedi dalle stazioni di Koiwa e Mizue, o puoi arrivare sin sotto la riva grazie agli Autobus!! ma devi andare presto :)
 


Edogawa (江戸川区 Edogawa-ku) is a Tokyo's ward.
The easternmost of the wards, it shares boundaries with the cities of Urayasu and Ichikawa in Chiba Prefecture (to the east) and with the wards of Katsushika (to the north), Sumida and Kōtō (to the west).
Japan has tons of fireworks festivals in summer, but the annual Edogawa Fireworks Festival, is ranked as one of the Top 5 in Tokyo. In the opening act alone, nearly 1,000 fireworks are launched in a span of just five seconds.
Held at Toritsu Shinozaki Park on the banks of the Edogawa River during the first Saturday in August, some 14,000 fireworks will be launched during the 75-minute show.
It’s popularity is shown in the estimated 1,300,000 people who gather on the banks of the Edogawa River on the Tokyo Edogawa and Chiba Ichikawa sides to watch the display.
The event is divided into eight acts and set against BGM (a common Japanese phrase for "background music") that matches the mood of each.
Very famous is Edogawa Fireworks Festival, one of the more senior fireworks festivals in Tokyo.
Shinozaki station on the Toei Shinjuku line is the closest station to Toritsu Shinozaki Park. From there, it’s a 15 minute walk. Other options include a 25 minute walk from JR Sobu line Koiwa station, a 25 minute walk from Keisei Edogawa on the Keisei line, or a 40 minute walk from Mizue Station on the Toei Shinjuku line. Anyway you can take a Bus!
