現代の大衆忘年会はビールでの乾杯から。
忘年会（ぼうねんかい）とは年末に催される宴会の事である。一般的には、その年の苦労を忘れるために執り行われる宴会について言う。宗教的意味付けや、特定行事様式の無い日本の風俗の一種である。

In December there are many year-end parties called bonenkai (忘年会), which literally means forget year meeting, and actually means the party to forget the troubles of the year.
Is generally held among groups of co-workers or friends and it doesn't take place on any specific day, but they are usually held in December
