1 giugno - Giorno delle foto (写真の日 Shashin no Hi). Istituito dalla Photographic Society of Japan (日本写真協会 Nihon Shashin Kyōkai, fondata nel dicembre del 1951), il giorno delle foto ha lo scopo di far progredire e sviluppare la fotografia in Giappone.

1841年の6月1日が、日本人の手による写真撮影が初めて行われた日ということで「写真の日」は制定されました。
