Conosci Omusubi? Alcuni li chiamano anche onigiri.
Perché esiste omusubi-no-hi? Questo giorno è stato designato per non dimenticare il grande terremoto di Hanshin avvenuto il 17 gennaio 1995. Durante i freddi giorni invernali dopo il terremoto, gli omusubi furono distribuiti alle vittime da volontari. Ciò ha supportato le vittime mentalmente e fisicamente.

今日（1月17日）は、おむすびの日
呼び名は、「おむすび」や「おにぎり」など地域によって異なるそうです。
実は、この日がおむすびの日となったのは、「1995年１月17日に発生した阪神・淡路大震災を忘れない」ためなのです。寒く厳しいこの時期に、すぐにボランティアによって配られ、心身ともに被災者を支えたのがおむすびでした。その後、ボランティアへの感謝の意を込めて、そしてお米の大切さ・食生活を見直す運動の一環として、おむすびの日が制定されました。

Today (January 17) is “Omusubi-no-hi” (the Rice Ball Day) in Japan!
Do you know omusubi? It is also called onigiri.
Why omusubi-no-hi was made? This day was designated not to forget the Great Hanshin earthquake happened on January 17 in 1995. During the cold winter days after the earthquake, omusubi was soon distributed to victims by volunteers. This supported the victims mentally and physically.
