Il 7 luglio si festeggia il Tanabata, la festa delle due stelle, Vega e Altair.
Nella tradizione giapponese rappresentano due innamorati,il pastore Hikoboshi (la stella Altair) e la dea Orihime (la stella Vega) che possono incontrarsi solamente una volta l'anno, la settima notte del settimo mese, mentre tutte le altre notti sono divisi dalla Via Lattea.
L’usanza e' scrivere un desiderio, o una poesia, in un foglio verticale, il tanzaku (短冊), da appendere a un ramoscello di bambu' o sugli alberi.

Tanabata (七夕) or the star festival, is observed on July 7.
It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega andAltair).
According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar.
People generally celebrate this day by writing wishes, sometimes in the form of poetry, on tanzaku (短冊 tanzaku), small pieces of paper, and hanging them on bamboo, sometimes with other decorations (see also Wish Tree).

7月7日は、七夕です。七夕(たなばた)は、年に一度だけ、「おりひめ(織女)」と「ひこぼし(牽牛)」が
天の川の上で逢うことができる日です。
この日に因んで、願い事を書いた短冊を笹の葉につるし、おりひめ星に技芸の上達を願います。
